5 Steps Matter

A Sports Scientist Shares His Own Experiences to Overcome Life Crisis

Overcoming and growing: a guide to mental strength

Life confronts us with many crises, be it at work or in our private lives. But how can we become more resilient, react more flexibly to such challenges and lead a fulfilled life again? Christoph Ebenbichler has experienced first hand what it means to be thrown off track – and to find your way back to a fulfilled life.

A skiing accident in 2021 almost cost sports scientist Christoph Ebenbichler his left leg. And it cost the young father his motivation, his zest for life and his fighting spirit. But after a period of despair, he began to explore the question: What do researchers say about such serious setbacks in life and how can the study results be implemented in practice? In this book, he combines scientific findings with his personal experiences and methods from elite sports. He presents an approach to crisis management that shows how challenges can be transformed into opportunities to restore balance in life. He shares how he himself managed to find his way out of the crisis and back to the top. And he explains how to strengthen your own resilience and prepare for future crises.
